Mrs. Moss recently received approximately $600 in a Homestead Property tax credit, plus a heating credit for about $50. As in years past, she used her largest refund to "catch up" on her gas bill. During the cold winter months she usually pays the minimum allowable to keep her house heated, and depends on her tax return to pay the balance of the bill. "I pay a bill instead of buying something new," she says. Mrs. Moss asked if she could pay for the help she received preparing her tax returns and credits from Accounting Aid. Learning that's against our policy, she sent a pretty thank you card and enclosed a check for a small donation. The card's inspirational message reminded us that it's just as blessed to give as to receive.
