Matrix Human Services -- For Opening Doors to the Osborn Neighborhood  The Matrix Human Services Center, or the "Center" as it is known by northeast Detroit Osborn residents, became the home of Accounting Aid's newest neighborhood-based tax site, made possible through funding from The Skillman Foundation's Good Neighborhoods Initiative. Thanks to the Center's reputation as a trusted community partner and the guidance of its staff, the site provided free tax assistance and counseling services to 1,425 low and moderate income taxpayers, returning more than $1.3 million to neighborhood households.

Compuware Corporation -- For Promoting Volunteerism This year Compuware Corporation and its employees enthusiastically joined Accounting Aid as a new Adopt- A-Site sponsor. Thirteen employees from Compuware's exemplary corporate volunteer program, the Community Action Network, volunteered 223 hours as tax preparers, assisting nearly 200 low and moderate income households to receive $172,800 in tax credits and refunds. We look forward to the benefits our continuing partnership will provide southeast Michigan in the years to come.
